I was wondering whether you guys here had any idea how long it takes for the Decree Absolute to be pronounced after I will have requested it?

Andyk, thanks for pointing to that thread. indeed very interesting and useful. My main concern is that if I do apply for the Absolute now (which I prefer, as you phrased it, to walk away a free man) that it will take the momentum out of the process, for her, and it will just take so much longer to reach any settlement later, but that is probably just something in my mind. I (petitioner) have obtained Decree Nisi at the end of 2010, and am debating whether to request for Absolute when possible, so in a few weeks, or should I wait until I reach a settlement with STBX so that I can get a "clean break"? I would think I can get a "clean break" as well after Absolute has been pronounced - is that assumption correct? Our situation is that: 10 year
