I have never been to any hearings divorce related but have been to court on a few occasions without solicitors. You will be fine! I'd personally wear a shit and tie. Your solicitor is there to guide you through the entire thing. They are expensive but for a very good reason. Good luck.

Has anyone just had their decree nisi pronounced? If so, how long did it take from the decree nisi application being lodged to being pronounced? Bury St. Edmunds answer was, "when the judge does it". I asked roughly how long, 1 month, 2 months, 6 months? Her reply was simply, "as I said, when the judge does it". However, she did say they are able to chase it up after a month.

Are you from the UK? if so, have you tried going through CSA (or whatever its called now)? They will be able to calculate what is fair to pay based on what you earn and how many children you have. They have an online calculator where you can work out how much child maintenance you should be paying.

I am the respondent in my divorce. My wife and I came to an agreement 3 months ago but I am still waiting for her solicitors drafted consent order. Is this a normal timescale? The consent order is for my wife to remain in the property but to pay me a lump sum. If this is dragged out for a long time, can I refuse to sign the consent order? In this time the house could increase/decrease in valu
