Thanks..but thats it is a pension that pre-dates my marriage, does it get bundled into a settlement? (Regardless of whether kept in the db or the sipp structure)

Hi. I have a defined benefit pension from prior to my marriage. I am looking at transferring that pension (which is linked to cpi) to a self investment pension plan to take advantage of the spiralling value of defined pension schemes (due to the collapse in rates).
