Topic: Ex Wife looking to Go Back to Court
Written By: Nigelti - 4 months ago
Forum: UK Divorce Forum
Hi, Just after some general advice. My ex wife has been very vocal recently in threatening to take me back to court as she feels I lied to the court (which I disagree with) at the FDR hearing and seems to consider this as a mechanism to go back and ask for further money. In short, we split up and she divorced me for unreasonable behaviour. We came to a financial settlement which included spo

It was 50/50 split of a defined contribution pension that the provider has confirmed they did not charge for. I suspect other advice was provided and the lack of interest in providing an invoice or terms of engagement is making me suspicious. I'm willing to pay my share but not if this is being wrapped up in wider advice or services - just not sure how I can find out without more costly solicit

Thanks that's really helpful and agree the wording on the consent order, which at the time seem very clear actually allows for quite a bit of ambiguity. Apparently the charge is for a 3% adviser fee to implement the sharing order. I've asked for a breakdown to ensure that it is just for that and not for associated advice. I wasn't consulted at the time on the choice of adviser or costs so its s

Good Afternoon. As part of my consent order just under a year ago, my ex got 50% of one of my pensions. The order stated that: "The costs of implementation of the pension sharing order shall be shared equally between the parties" I've just received a bill from an independent adviser for circa £600 for the pension transfer. What I'm unclear of is what this bill is for and wh
Topic: Loan Refund after Absolute
Written By: Nigelti - 1 year ago
Forum: UK Divorce Forum
Morning. My ex has opened some mail of mine that was a letter from a bank offering a refund for a personal loan from a few years back. She has written on the letter that I owe her half as the loan was from when we were together. We are now divorced and there is a financial settlement in place. It feels like an interesting position - the loan was when we were married but it is in my name so

Thanks Gents - 43 so acutely aware of the issue on getting a mortgage. It really is a balance - dealing with someone who remains erratic and extreme does not help (however understandable in some ways emotionally). I can see her fighting all the way if I push for a sale but everything is a battle anyway so I do wonder whether offering any olive branch is really worth the effort. I do see the

Morning, looking for advice and experience on agreeing a divorce. Negotiations are slow and not progressing well towards a financial settlement. Background is ex wife and 2 children remain in family home, I moved out over 18 months ago. Her initial offer was extreme but some progress made in identifying her primary goal (that she will communicate) to stay in the family home until youngest c
Topic: Interim Maintenance - Impact on Negotiated Settlement or Court Ruling?

Hi All, Maybe if I start by explaining some background then the advice sought may make more sense! 1 - I left the family home in November 13 and have since been voluntarily been paying £2850 per month towards the upkeep of the family home and for the ex wife and 2 children 2 - This was a voluntary agreement until last summer 3 - My ex was completing a teaching qualification which she del

Hi, I'm new to the forum but have found some of the topics really helpful. I've just been served with the divorce papers after having left home 6 months ago. I know everyone has their story and there is nothing particularly unique or special about mine. I'm looking to get some legal advice this week as I have to respond within 7 days to their letter. At this stage I am just after some advi
