divorce on hold but for how long ?

hi. im new to the forum. my wife filed for divorce divorce at the start of september 2010.
My solicitor put the divorce on hold in early December as the stress of it all resulted in my suicide attempt, i am now suffering from severe depresion and high anxiety.
what i would like to know is how long can the divorce be put on hold ?

I think you're lucky to have got it put on hold at all. Why do you want to put it on hold? If the marriage is over then why stay married?
