Pension CEV
Pat123 - 26 October, 2017 08:58PM
Hi, hoping someone can help,

What would be a reasonable time to wait for CEV?
I am having no response from ex's solicitor although it has been 3 months since he said it was applied for.
Am I being impatient or could this be more delaying tactics?

Thanks

When I looked into it they said it could take up to 6 weeks so I gave up and asked my work for a annual statement.
Sounds like your being delayed.

It depends on the type of scheme. If it is a defined contribution where your ex has a pot of money in his name then it would be I start, subject the the turn around times of the pension provider. If it is a defined benefit scheme then it could take a lot longer as complex calculations will be involved. If it is a state scheme such as civil service then who k owns when it comes to government departments.

Thank you for replies. It is a final salary pension which he could of take a year ago. I haven't got a clue if he has or not. He has been delaying things for months. Now I am getting no response from his solicitor. My ex said he has chased his solicitor up but then he said "what is a CEV" As if he didn't know.!
Any advice please.

As far as I am aware it is a CETV - Cash Equivalent Transfer Value

I had to wait 3 months for mine so it can take this long, especially if you are dealing with the public sector, they are notoriously slow.

Thanks again for replies It is a private sector pension. I have waited 3 months now. The thing that worries me is they will not answer my email and I wonder if they have even applied for it. He has done everything he can think of to delay things so far.
