Italy help needed
taylope1 - 10 July, 2017 10:22AM
My future wife was married in Italy. 3 years have now passed since the start of the separation (which was required at the time of filing). Now we want the divorce sorted, the ex is saying that this cant be done in Italy as both here (and the ex) now reside in the UK. Please help as we are planning to get married next summer and this is a major spanner in the works. Can we get the abislut done here using an Italian separation paper? Is the ex making this all up?
Thx

No.

Probably not if both spouses now live in the UK. If they have lived here for a year they need to seek a divorce here. Don't make any arrangements to marry until your intended has a proper decree of divorce.
