Respondent refuses to give address.
Benski - 02 February, 2017 02:49PM

I seperated from my wife 2 3/4 years ago.

We agreed verbally in April 2014 we would wait 2 years for the mandatory separation period to allow us to divorce.

For the past 6 months, I have asked her via email and skype for her address so I can pay the court fee and send her the petition.

However, she refuses to give me her address. She proposes that I instead come to sign the forms face to face.

I would be very grateful of advice on what one can do to process a divorce if the respondent refuses to give their address.

Best regards.

Sorry I forgot to mention, we have no children, and we have agreed verbally not to seek any financial division of our assets.

Issue a divorce petition (on a ground which does not require her consent), ask the court to return the papers to you or your solicitors for service, arrange to meet her at a time and place but do not turn up. Just get a third party to serve the divorce papers on her.
